Ivic Earns Second Team Honors
FRISCO, TEXAS – The University of the Incarnate Word men’s tennis player Leonard Ivic was named onto the Southland Conference all-conference singles second team on Wednesday, after the regular season came to a close last weekend.
The All-Southland Conference men’s tennis teams comprise six first-team and six second-team singles members and three first-team and three second-team doubles squads, who are chosen from the six teams represented in the conference.
Among members from New Orleans, Lamar, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Nicholls, Ivic was the only UIW player to earn post season honors. This year he played all of his singles matches as the #1 seed player and went 15-14 overall in singles and 4-17 overall in doubles after the Cardinals played some of the toughest Division I programs across the nation. Ivic finished his career with a singles record of 48-33 and accumulated the third most singles wins in school history. He was also 27-39 in his doubles career.
